Loki Season 2 reached its intriguing and transformative conclusion earlier this month and already fans are speculating what will be in store for not only Loki himself, but the show’s substantial supporting cast. Alongside OB, played by Ke Huy Quan, Sylvie, the female Loki and Princess of Asgard from a variant timeline is one of the show’s more popular characters — will we be seeing more of Sylvie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (before Loki Season 3)? With characters like Monica Rambeau from WandaVision and Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan appearing alongside Captain Marvel in the recently released The Marvels, the answer looks more and more likely and Sylvie actress Sophia Di Martino thinks that her character should get a similar opportunity.
“I just want to do as much Sylvie as I can,” Di Martino told GamesRadar when asked about if she’d like to see Sylvie crossover into MCU movies. “Just to carry on her story, see where she goes next, and to see her finding her way through some movies would be super cool. Yeah, definitely.”
When informed that the MCU movies might require more demanding action sequences from her character, Di Martino replied, “I love all that stuff, put me on a wire!” When asked which character from the MCU she’d most like to see Sylvie interact with, she immediately said she’d want to “have a witch off” with Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. “Let’s get some more of the girls together,” she added.
While Di Martino feels “daunted” by the size, scope and rabid fanbase of the MCU, she noted that she sees all those elements of the comic book movie universe as positive ones. “I think that’s good, you know? It gives you adrenaline and the energy to do a good job,” she said. “The day I’m not terrified going onto set is the day I probably need to give up.”
Di Martino continued, I’ve been really fortunate to be able to do lots of other stuff and I continue to work in, you know, independent British film and TV comedy and I’m still doing podcasts and voiceovers and all the stuff that I love doing. I’ve been able to keep everything nice and varied.”
